Problem:
The fill/drain SAE J514 plug used by an overseas location of an international company was backing out due to vibration causing O-ring extrusion and leaks.
Use Description
A SAE J514 ORB -04 socket head plug was used in the drive motor as the fill / drain plug.
Solution
Personnel involved checked with their counterparts at other manufacturing locations as to their experience with ZLGP. These recommendations added support to the decision to install socket head -04 Zero-Leak Gold Plugs as the fill / drain plug.
Results
No ZLGP have been reported to back out, and therefore there have been no O-ring extrusions with the accompanying leaks.
Post-Script
Future drive motor applications will have Zero-Leak Gold Plugs performing the fill / drain function. 62081

Problem:
The SAE straight thread with O-ring roller pipe would back out and let water escape, which resulted in constant mopping.
Use Description
The roller pipe is part of a steel coiling system. 1,200 degree F steel ingots are sent from the furnace through a series of rollers that flatten the steel to a desired thickness and coiled at the end of the process.
Solution
The Zero-Leak Gold design replaced the SAE threaded end of the roller pipe.
Results
No leaks from any of the ZLG roller pipes have been reported.
